Darcy Daniels works hard for her perfect portrayal of success. She sells designer eye wear, her fashion is flawless, as well as her high-class social connections. Her apartment is shabby, however the zip code signifies status Houston's Uptown Galleria. On the outside, her lifestyle supports chic and exciting, but things are not always as they seem.
Underneath, Darcy shares a connection with those suffocating from insecurities and low self-esteem. Her world appears to be shrinking and is taking its toll. And Prince Charming? Where is he? The natural ending to all she has worked toward. How long can she maintain her fabricated charade?
Darcy's insecurities hit an all-time low when dynamics heighten between her and the crusty, old apartment manager, whose is the master of intimidation. Pushing through her relentless self-doubt, Darcy stumbles upon a crack in the bitter old woman's facade, which leaves both of them at a crossroads in their lives...and hearts.

I gobbled up Terry's first novel, Saving Gracie, and still have fond memories of it that frequently come to mind. Sometimes an author's second novel is so similar to the first, you immediately know the cast and feel like you've returned to a place that made you feel comfortably at home. Partly Sunny is quite different than her first, but within a few pages, I felt I was in a comfy place I could call home. I love quirky characters - need I say more?Partly Sunny shows how diverse an author can be, and as always I am impressed by Lee's writing talent. Darcy was not one to whom I instantly connected, however in time I realized she is like so many people who aren't quite sure who they are, either. Now, for some weird reason, I knew right away (maybe because I'm older) that the wicked witch apartment manager was not really wicked, just defensive for personal reasons.
Delightful characters abound, and whether you've traveled to or lived in Houston, TX., you should relate to all of them.

Partly Sunny edition by Terry Lee Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I liked the book a lot though it starts a little slow and somewhat surprises you with its poignant portrayal of so many of us who can't see our blessings for focusing too severely on what we don't have. The book is humorous, thoughtful and thought-provoking and helped me to see my family in a much more positive way. Thanks
I really like book. Very well written and makes you smile. Makes you look at your on life choices. Remember to recycle for our children.
Darcy is a thirty year old woman who is not content with her life, but not sore what she is missing. She matures and becomes an entirely different person. Some surprising twists add to the drama, great book.
I became comfy with the key characters very fast. Lead character, Darcy evolves as the lives of those closest to her change. (no spoilers). You will love her relationship with BFF, Miranda. And you will be amazed at how Darcy becomes ever more involved with her apt manager. Few can say that they read the whole book without shedding a few tears.
Cute, lighthearted story about life, death, love, and finding the things that matter most. I loved crusty Viola and the ragtag tenants at Fountain Oaks Apartments who discover that sometimes families are made from unexpected sources.
I strongly disliked the characters at the beginning of the book, but as I read on, it was because they were lost and needed to find their way. The characters grew into people with deep souls and empathy through reaching beyond their comfort zones and engaging in conversations with people who they would have dismissed. I especially loved Viola... the apartment manager. Her snarky comments had her pegged as the Wicked Witch of The West...but she was full of surprises. This is a feel good story, though some family dynamics remained sad.
Partly Sunny is about the residents of the Fountain Oaks Apartment complex, they comprise an odd bunch that appeal because they of their eccentricities. Among them there is 30 year old Darcy Daniels who yearns to be like her rich and smart friends but has to make do with fake designer stuff and then there is the 80 year old apartment manager, Viola Middleton who is considered the “Wicked Witch of the West” with her bullying attitude. Terry Lee’s book proves that you should never judge a book by its cover for Viola Middleton hides a different side not seen by many. How will her relationship with Darcy change Darcy’s life and will Darcy ever find her Prince Charming?
Partly Sunny is well written with good characterisation and there are numerous everyday scenarios to which readers can easily relate. The book has no shockers in store; it is just a smooth sailing ride all the way that has a tendency to border on predictability. A good read nevertheless.
